If you’re active duty you should already have a clearance.

That will be the decision of the investigating board. Most likely you will clear. Speaking from experience of a co-worker.

Depends on the remaining balances, the discharge of debt, your current financial situation and if applicable your spouses information.

In granting you a clearance, it isn’t so much WHAT you’ve done, as making sure you TELL them about it, so you cannot be blackmailed with it later on, blackmailed into betraying your country.

They’re looking for areas of instability, such as a shaky marriage, drinking problems, ongoing financial troubles (which would tempt you to sell secrets to get out of debt), etc.

    short answer – no
not unless they have made a lot of changes

You are still eligible, but it does make it harder for you. The investigation will take longer, and your case will take longer to be adjudicated, and you may be rejected. However, it is not an automatic disqualifier. Document everything, and tell them everything. Don’t leave out any detail on your SF-86.

At the least, you should be able to get an interim secret.
